Youth Programs

At the Volunteer Center of Lubbock, we believe that young people are not just the future—they are leaders today. Our youth programs are the cornerstone of our mission because we know that service and leadership go hand in hand. By equipping students with opportunities to serve, lead, and connect, we are building the next generation of compassionate leaders and active community members.

Whether you’re looking to volunteer, develop leadership skills, or take part in hands-on projects, our programs provide the tools and experiences to make an impact now and for years to come.

Youth In Service

Youth in Service works with schools across the South Plains to help students engage in meaningful volunteer work, develop leadership skills, and build a lifelong commitment to service. Through strategic support for partner schools, we provide the tools and opportunities to make service more accessible and impactful.

How We Support Student Volunteers

✔ Hands-on service opportunities: Schools receive two free “Projects in a Box” for students to participate in on campus.

✔ Resources & training: We offer in-person training for school sponsors, student webinars, and live Q&A sessions.

✔ Ongoing support & tracking: Monthly newsletters, tailored volunteer recommendations, and a Volunteer Transcript to track service hours for scholarships, resumes, and college applications.

✔ Stronger school partnerships: Expanded engagement with rural schools, in-person guidance, and school-based office hours to help students find and track volunteer opportunities.

By making service more accessible, engaging, and valuable, we’re creating a culture of lifelong volunteerism and leadership.

We’re building a generation of leaders

The success of a community will be defined by its next generations. At the Volunteer Center, we believe it is our responsibility to help build a next generation of leaders who are engaged within their community and who know how to use their personal strengths and talents to benefit those around them, in their workplace, in their neighborhood, and every area of their lives.
