Description
Create colorful reminders of hope, encouragement, and connection through this simple, family-friendly service project. Participants will decorate rocks with cheerful designs or uplifting messages such as “You Matter,” “Keep Going,” or “Choose Joy.”
Completed rocks can be donated to local organizations or placed thoughtfully in appropriate community locations where they can brighten someone’s day. Suggested nonprofits and placement options will be provided in the project instructions.

Each kit is designed for a group of up to 10 volunteers. This project is suitable for individuals, families, schools, businesses, and other groups. No artistic experience is needed—just bring your creativity and a desire to spread a little kindness.
How it works:
- Pick up your prepared project from the Volunteer Center of Lubbock.
- Decorate each rock with a kind message or cheerful design.
- Allow the finished rocks to dry completely.
- Review the suggested nonprofit and placement options included in your instructions.
- Deliver or place the finished rocks thoughtfully in the community.
Every rock carries a simple message: someone in our community is valued, supported, and not alone.
Community Service Verification: If you are completing this project to fulfill community service requirements, the finished project must be returned to the Volunteer Center of Lubbock. VCL staff must receive and review the completed items before service hours can be verified. Projects delivered directly to another organization or placed in the community cannot be verified by VCL.
