Description
Create wearable reminders of hope, strength, and connection through this thoughtful, hands-on service project. Participants will use alphabet and decorative beads to make bracelets featuring uplifting words or short messages such as “You Matter,” “Stay Strong,” “Be Brave,” or “Hope Is Real.”
Completed bracelets can be donated to organizations that support people experiencing difficult seasons. Suggested nonprofits where you can deliver the finished bracelets will be provided in the project instructions.
Your project includes:
- Alphabet beads
- Decorative beads
- Elastic cord
- Scissors
- Step-by-step instructions
- Encouraging word and message ideas
- Suggested nonprofit drop-off options
Each kit is designed for groups of up to 10 volunteers. This project is suitable for individuals, families, schools, businesses, and other groups. No jewelry-making experience is needed—just a willingness to create something meaningful for someone else.
How it works:
- Pick up your prepared project from the Volunteer Center of Lubbock.
- Choose an encouraging word or short message for each bracelet.
- Arrange the beads, string them onto the elastic cord, and tie the bracelet securely.
- Select a nonprofit from the suggestions included in your instructions.
- Deliver the completed bracelets so they can be shared with people who may need a little extra encouragement.
Every bracelet offers its recipient a simple but meaningful reminder that they are valued, supported, and not alone.
Community Service Verification: If you are completing this project to fulfill community service requirements, the finished bracelets must be returned to the Volunteer Center of Lubbock. VCL staff must receive and review the completed project before service hours can be verified.
