At the Volunteer Center of Lubbock, we partner with middle schools, high schools, and universities to provide students with meaningful volunteer opportunities, leadership experiences, and hands-on ways to engage with their community.

Youth in Service (Middle & High Schools)
Empowering students to serve, lead, and connect
The Youth in Service program helps students develop leadership skills and engage in meaningful volunteer work. By supporting partner schools, we provide the resources, training, and recognition to create a culture of lifelong service.
How We Support Schools & Students:

Hands-on service opportunities – We provide two free “Projects in a Box” for schools, giving students on-campus service experiences.

Training & engagement – We offer an in-person sponsor training and a recorded student webinar with a live Q&A session to launch the program.

Ongoing support & tracking – Schools receive monthly newsletters with volunteer opportunities and a Volunteer Transcript to help students track service hours for scholarships, resumes, and college applications.

Stronger school partnerships – We expand outreach to rural schools, offer on-campus guidance, and host school-based office hours to help students connect with service opportunities.
University & College Volunteer Partnerships
We collaborate with local universities to create large-scale days of service, connecting students with local nonprofits and impactful community projects. These events help college students give back, gain leadership experience, and make a lasting impact in Lubbock.
